The Junior Data Scientist (Accounting) will assist in driving data science initiatives within the financial accounting pillar, supporting automation, analytical modelling, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with finance and accounting teams to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and insight generation

Responsibilities

• Execute general monthly accounting functions, including applying and monitoring accounting controls
• Manage and adhere to the monthly accounting timetable to ensure timely and accurate financial results
• Define, document, and maintain core accounting data logic and models Collect, clean, and analyse large datasets for insightful business reporting
• Reformat and visualise financial insights for easy interpretation by management and business stakeholders Build and maintain BI dashboards and visual reports for finance leadership
• Engage with internal stakeholders to share findings, validate assumptions, and support strategic decision-making Support the finance team’s journey towards data science adoption and future-fit automation
• Contribute to projects that combine financial accounting and advanced analytics for innovation in reporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Data Science, Financial Accounting, or a related field
